Almost 100 years of history!
In 1925 Alois Plank built a small cabin in the Pukelin area. It was a small market stall where fruit, drinks and sweets were sold to hikers.

In 1925 Alois Plank built a small cabin in the Pukelin area. It was a small market stall where fruit, drinks and sweets were sold to hikers.
The Erschbaumer family bought this market stall in 1949 and converted it into a small guest house “Gasthaus Zum Touristen”. This house offered guest beds and simple meals to mountain hikers in the summer. This place was very popular as a meeting place for local farmers and workers from the Grand Hotel Carezza for evening entertainment with music and dancing.
In 1970 the Erschbaumer family expanded the house into a guesthouse called “Simhild.” The name comes from the legend “King Laurin and his rose garden.” With passion and hard work, Richard continued to run the guesthouse with his mother until 1980.
In the fall of 1980, it was time to fall in love. Richard and Traudi got married in November then worked together with passion, patience, and love to pamper their guests and family for over 40 years.
The pandemic changed the world and at the end of summer in 2023 the couple decided it was time for a new life chapter that's when something magical happened. A noble gentleman drove past here and fell in love with the fresh air and beautiful views. He was mesmerized by the Latemar mountain, the little Pukelin river, the Rosengarten Mountain, and the lush meadows.
